The History of The Hot Air Balloon Roundup
The Winthrop Balloon Roundup Festival began as a gathering of Pacific Northwest balloonists seeking a unique way to enjoy their off-season. In the heart of winter, they converged on the charming historic town of Winthrop, a quaint Western gem that has retained its old-world charm for decades. These early pioneers sought not only stunning scenery but also a chance to celebrate friendship and camaraderie amongst fellow balloonists. Today, over 28 years later, more than 20 balloons grace the skies above Winthrop, carrying on the spirit of those original flights.
This is a free event for spectators.
